This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It was last updated on 24 August 2026.

Who we are

We are Crown Car Repair, a vehicle repair and maintenance business in Birmingham. Our address and contact details are in the footer of every page and on our contact page.

What we collect, and when

When you use the enquiry form

The enquiry form asks for your name, a way to contact you (phone number and/or email address), and your message. You may also choose to give us your vehicle registration. We ask for the registration because it tells us the engine and specification, which lets us give you an accurate answer instead of a guess.

We use this information for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out and record work on your vehicle. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to third parties for marketing.

When you simply browse

Our web host records standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser information. These are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and are used for security and to keep the site running.

This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts. It loads no fonts, scripts or resources from external services.

Our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we process enquiry information on the basis of legitimate interests — responding to somebody who has contacted us asking for a service — and, where you become a customer, on the basis of performance of a contract and our legal obligations to keep certain records.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as needed to deal with them, and are then deleted. Records relating to work carried out on a vehicle are kept longer, because we are required to retain business and tax records and because a service or repair history is something you may need years later.

Who else sees it

Our web hosting provider stores the website and its database on our behalf, and can therefore technically access data held there. We do not share your information with anyone else except where we are legally required to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and to object to how we are using it.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details on our contact page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top.
